Sundays has been a lifelong dream of mine. Along with my husband Jeff, I purchased this wonderful building in historic downtown La Crosse. With a lot of hard work and renovations, we’ve created Sundays. I work the restaurant and do the baking. My son, Dustin, works the front counter and brings such energy and fun to the restaurant; I am so lucky he chose to join me in the adventure. You may notice the sandwich on the menu called “The James Lee.” This was my son James’ favorite sandwich and I wanted to include it in memory of him.

Our signature Sour Cream Peach pie is a recipe handed down from our Aunt Erma who is the best pie baker I know. The house soup is made for me by my brother, Tom. All the old portraits you see hanging in the restaurant are acutally our family. The photo to the left is my beautiful mother, who is the inspiration for our Blue Plate Specials. She made the best home cooked meals using the simplest ingredients, but always made them taste wonderful. I have such fond memories of those family meals and I hope you will enjoy them too.

Sundays is located in a building built in 1870 and is listed  on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a beautiful example of business Italianate architecture of the late 19th century. You can still see the arches that once led into the adjoining building. For many years this was the location of “Herken’s Trunk Company,” which made the streamer trunks that were used for travel in those days.
